From image to atmosphere.

 

Founded in 2025, Raeta is the scent studio of artist Alia Malley, based near Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Grounded in Alia's work in photography and film, Raeta is a continuation of her visual practice, shifting from the fixed, visible image to one that moves through air.

Scent lives between mediums: like photography, it holds memory; like film and music, it unfolds in time. With Raeta, Alia's original compositions take form through scent rather than sight.

Raeta works in limited editions, collaborative projects with creative friends, and experimental olfactory installations.

Alia’s wider practice explores landscape, technology, and our relationship to place. Her work is held in private and public collections including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the UCLA Library Special Collections, and the Beth Rudin DeWoody Collection. She holds a BA in Critical Film Studies from USC and an MFA in Visual Arts from UC Riverside.
